In the tradition of the great printmaker Eric Thake, I created Holiday/Celebration card Lino prints.  I have chosen to copy the size of his prints, the tongue in cheek humour and the black and white paired-down style of his works. “With a pencil” celebration edition plays with the detritus of human fun, all various elements and recognisable of people partying. Their interaction with these special items focusses our attention on the waste and items we give meaning to, but then cast away.  The birds are the conscience or a state of mindfulness about our choices.

Each of the birds are Dubbo locals, they are common in our yards and the surrounds filling the air with their calls and delighting when they make an appearance. It was. a pleasure to observe their details and render them in a Lino print edition.
