About With a Pencil

Black and white illustration of Dundullimal sandstone building showcasing the antique weight machine and blue bees.
Graphite drawing of a black cockatoo dressed as a contemporary head nurse holding a pillow in one wing and the other resting on a medical trolly.
Lino Prints hand coloured with watercolour, image is of an antique foral high backed chair with a small white dog and a tartan rug over the back of the chair. At the side of the image is a Hard Quiz mug on a stand.

“With-a-Pencil” comes from my deep belief in each persons' capacity to create.

It also speaks of the place where my making begins.

When asked...

“How do I draw a cat?”

my cheeky reply would be -  “With a pencil”

I would then enquire about what was the goal and then move on to teach them how they could draw what they wanted.

Quirky, environmental, uniquely Australian and charming pieces of my locally designed and produced art made available to purchase. Printmaking, in the form of Lino block carving, is my passion. Flexing my drawing, painting and sculpting skills is also a joy.

Content of my work reflects my passion for Australian nature, interest in history, pride in community, social/political voice and a deep adoration of the arts.

Original pieces incorporated into gift items including tourist specific works created to highlight the uniqueness of our rural location. Using my professional skills to enhance products,  educational resources for tourist locations.

Inspiring creativity by developing manual and conceptual skills in others with my classes.

Creative Director Services

As a practicing artist and teacher with years of experience as a leader, I am skilled in drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture, but also working with organisations to develop opportunities and specific works.

Artist designed tourist items - I work closely with the team and investigate the location carefully when developing the artworks to be turned into items for sale on the sites. At Dundullimal Homestead, a significant National Trust site, have been working together in developing a range of site specific tourist items. I am working with A team to develop 3 tea towel designs for Wellington and in talks with a Sydney gallery and historic site to develop pieces for their locations.

Commissions - Providing my artmaking services to businesses or the public is also available. Material options are, Lino printing, watercolour/gouache, acrylic painting, drawing and murals.
