Lino Print - Teacup (Bandit) Budgie, hand coloured - Sold without framing.
Barb Livingston, “Teacup (Bandit) Budgie” 2025
Hand painted gouache and lino block print on Fabriano Accademia paper
Print 30 x 30cm – paper 40 x 40cm
Botanical is the “Sawtooth Banksia” - Banksia serrata.
Fauna is a Budgie - Melopsittacus undulatus.
A grey budgie bandit has taken over the evening, not only spilling the tea, but it is perched triumphant on the carcass of the cup. By painting the fiery sunset colours as the background of the sawtooth banksia table cloth I created a flaming battlefield, matched by the arrogant stance and the blindfold of an infamous character.
Sold unframed, each image will be signed and dated as per convention. There are only 12 of these prints being made.
Lino block artworks go through a rigorous process when they are being printed and allow the artist to create multiple prints. When a print is ordered, it will look mostly like the image presented on the website, following the same colour scheme, but due to the process of hand painting, the blending of tones and colours will be some variation between the prints. There will be dents in the paper made by the Lino Block making an impression on the page, this is a part of the material practice leaving the paper slightly embossed. When purchasing unframed artworks, some printmaking marks may appear in the unprinted portion of the page, these should be covered when the work is mounted/framed.
