Lino Print - Teacup (Bandit) Budgie - Sold without framing.
Barb Livingston, “Teacup (Bandit) Budgie” 2025
Lino block print on Fabriano Accademia paper
Print 30 x 30cm – paper 40 x 40cm
Botanical is the “Sawtooth Banksia” Banksia serrata,
Fauna is a Budgie - Melopsittacus undulatus.
Upending the crockery is a power move from this black and white version of the teacup budgie. Standing like Zorro or Robin Hood from monochrome movie days. With legs holding the balance on the bott fancy foot of the fine China we can tell they are supremely confident with a finger accusing someone of….something. Choosing the banksia as to the floral choice in this tablecloth harks back to May Gibb’s ‘Big bad banksia man’
Sold unframed, each image will be signed and dated as per convention. This is in an edition of 100 prints.
Lino block artworks go through a rigorous process when they are being printed and allow the artist to create multiple prints. There will be dents in the paper made by the Lino Block making an impression on the page, this is a part of the material practice leaving the paper slightly embossed. When purchasing unframed artworks, some printmaking marks may appear in the unprinted portion of the page, these should be covered when the work is mounted/framed.
